What Factors Affect the Cost of an AC Installation?

We consider these factors in your AC installation estimate:

  • Type and brand of the AC. The brand and model you choose, as well as its efficiency rating, impact the overall cost of the service.
  • Home size and layout. Larger homes need larger, more expensive AC systems, while smaller homes often have more cost-effective options. Additionally, if your home has a unique layout, it may require zoning systems or more powerful equipment, increasing the total cost.
  • Existing ductwork. If your home needs ductwork repairs, your quote will include additional material and labor costs.
  • Accessibility. Labor rates run higher for jobs that require AC installation in tight or hard-to-reach spots.

FAQs

AC Installation FAQs

AC installation generally takes between four and eight hours to complete. However, the exact timeline depends on the complexity of the job. Our technicians usually complete a straightforward installation in one day, but they may need more time if the job requires duct or electrical work.

No, you shouldn’t attempt to install an AC yourself. This job requires electrical work, handling refrigerant, and understanding system sizing. Mistakes can lead to poor performance, increased energy bills, and safety hazards.

At Comfort Systems, we specialize in professional AC installation. Our technicians install your new system with safety and precision, ensuring long-lasting performance.

The decision to repair or replace your AC comes down to its age, energy efficiency, and frequency of repairs. If your AC is less than 10 years old, requires infrequent and simple repairs, and hasn’t caused spikes in your energy bills, repairing may be a better option. However, if your system is older than 10 years, frequently requires expensive repairs, and has lost efficiency, choosing to replace it may save money in the long run.

On the day of the installation, you can help things go smoothly by clearing the work area, securing your pets, and ensuring easy access to electrical areas. Our professional installers handle the rest, including removing old equipment.

Yes, once our technicians have completed the installation, your new AC system is ready to run immediately. After installation, the technician will test the system and make sure it functions properly. At this point, your system is ready to use.

Customer Review

A job well done.

Jay Griffin came out to fix our hvac and to repair it wasn’t going to be cost effective so he helped us to get a new system and replace ductwork at a reasonable price. Very helpful. The team that came out to do the work was very respectful and got the job done in a timely manner. Leslie was the main person I spoke with about the installation. He sent me pictures of the work as my husband and I couldn’t go into crawl space. Very neat and a job well done. All of the guys were very nice and worked hard to do a good job. I would recommend them to anyone that needs heat and air work done.
